Gloria Karlson

Formerly a professional photographer whose images have been exhibited in prestigious venues such as the Hudson River Museum, Cork Gallery Avery Fisher Hall, Gloria Karlson often uses her photographs as points of departure for her paintings. These combined with memory, translated and transformed in color are powerful sources of inspiration. She seeks to portray the visual equivalence of the subterranean rumblings of her psyche. Currently, Ms. Karlson, paints on location, from imagination as well as from her photographs in oil, watercolor and mixed media.
